PRAKASAM DISTRICT IS SANDWITCHED, NEGLECTED & DECEIVED

Prakasam District  Is  sandwiTched, neglected &   deceIVed

1.         Formed 45 years ago with backward areas from Nellore and Guntur districts and most backward areas from Kurnool district.

2.         Admittedly, this District remained backward till date but for tall & empty promises by Rulers.

3.     Industrialists, traders, contractors and rich people from other districts are becoming Hon'ble M.P.'s and M.L.A.'s in Prakasam District only to pursue and develop their business, trade, contracts and contacts

4.       The Political parties that ruled the State & Country failed to set up not even a single Govt. industry or Defence Organisation or Labs or Thermal Power Station, Sea Port, Airport, Fertilizer Factory etc., in Prakasam District.

5.         The Govts. also failed to promote and assist for setting up of big private industries i.e. auto mobile factories, Steel Factories, Cement Factories, Fertilizer Factories, Electrical & Electronic Industries, Paper Mills, Cigarette Factories, Spinning & Textile Mills, Leather Goods Manufacturing Industries, Fruit Products Manufacturing Industries, Chemical Factories, Foot Wear Manufacturing Industries, Pharmaceutical Industries etc., in the district.

6.      So far the district did not have Govt. Junior College, Engineering College, Homeo College, Agricultural College, Veterinary College, or any sort of University.

7.      Of  late, the Govt. also did not bother to locate at least one prestigious central institution listed in the A.P. State Re-organisation Bill- 2014  i.e, IIM, IIT, IIFT, IIIT, IIS & ER, Central University, Agricultural University, Tribal University, etc.,

8.      No Stadium, mini Stadium, Auditorium, Museum, Beautiful Public Gardens/Parks could be created or established in Ongole  or   in the District.

9.       No new Railway Line connection in the past 45 years in the district or Railway Division office as in the case of Vijayawada & Guntur.

10.    The Hand-loom Industries in Cottage Sector and the Weavers are reeling under poverty.

11.       No facilities were created investing considerable amounts for promotion of Tourism in the past 45 years for Temples at Bhairavakona, Markapuram, Tripurantakam, Malakonda, Singarayakonda, Singarakonda etc., Water Falls at Bhairavakona, Nemali Gundam, Buddhist places at Chandavaram, Addanki,Motupalli, Kanaparthi unlike investments in other Districts -- say for example Kotappakonda Rs.30 crores, Kondaveedu Rs.15 crores in Guntur District. why it is not so in Prakasam District ?

12.    Rice Mills, Dal Mills, Spinning Mills, Granite Industries, Tobacco Processing and Exporting Industries, Small Chemical Manufacturing Units, Glass Manufacturing Industries, Oil Mills etc., now existing in the district are mostly due to hard work of local entrepreneurs with "Zero" contribution from State & Central Govts.

13.    Govt. did not take up Nagarjuna Sagar Phase-II for the past 50 years to provide irrigation water to most drought prone areas of Kondepi, Podili, Kanigiri, Kandukur etc., thus deceiving Prakasam Farmers.

14.      No reservoirs were built on Musi & Paleru rivulets in the past 45 years for supply of drinking water and irrigation water.

15.     Acute drinking water problems half the year all over the district - a common feature. - Ongole - district head quarters - water supply once in two or three days - progress achieved in the past 45 years !

16.     Major Port at Ramayapatnam - recommended by State Govt., in 2012 but the same was hijacked to Dugarajapatnam in Nellore District by Hon'ble M.P.'s and Political Leaders from Nellore and Chittoor Districts influencing the Central Govt.& the then Prime Minister Sri Manmohan Singh.
17.     Sri Chandrababu Naidu told in a public meeting in Ongole on 7-10-14 that Prakasam   
     district is backward district and would take all out efforts to develop the district. But he    conveniently ignored to obtain Central Special Development Package and other tax  concessions as was given recently to Rayalaseema & Uttharandhra districts. 

18.   Today, the Prakasam district is the second largest district, fourth largest exporter in the state and fifth leading Revenue contributor to the State. Most of this revenue from the District is being diverted for development activities in other districts.

            Thus the Guntur & Krishna districts located in the North and Nellore & Chittoor districts located  South of Prakasam District were already  very well developed with plenty of various Industries, Colleges, Universities etc and had virtually Sandwitched Prakasam District and continue to do the same, since the Rulers are hailing from these Districts.

            So who is responsible for this sordid state of affairs in Prakasam District even after 45 years of its formation. Whether it is because of You or Me or Us or Authorities administering the District or Political Leaders or Peoples Representatives of the district or Chief Ministers ?
